Maps are not projects. They are static. Nobody can add or remove items. From a single project, you can generate an unlimited number of maps, choosing to show some of the items only (for instance items placed only by a specific user, or specific items type etc... Read more

Project Moderation

PoiGpsClub offers some mechanism to prevent contributor malicious behaviours. In some cases, you can face contributors who intentionally place non relevant items on the project maps or write inappropriate content.

When a contributor does not play by the rules, The project owner can action three things:

  1. Temporary or permanently ban the contributor
  2. Delete all items added by the contributor in the project (specially useful to clean a project which was damaged by a contributor)
  3. In worst cases, inform a PoiGpsClub administrator using the contact page which can result in the deletion of the contributor account... Read more

Put and/or Collect Modes

Once a project has been created, there are 3 ways to work on it. Only the project owner can change the project mode.

In this project example, the project is about to locate mushrooms near Reading.

Per default, "put only" (1) mode is selected. This is the selected mode when creating a new project. It means that you can only put items on the project map. You cannot collect them.

If you select "Collect only" (3) mode, you won't be able to add any new item on the project map. You can only collect the items already present on the project map.

If you select "Put & Collect" (2) mode, this is a mixed mode. You can add new items and you can also collect items already present on the project map
